Advanced Beauty Treatments & Training
We offer the following massages;
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage is a massage technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas, either following or going across the fibres of the muscles, tendons, and fascia.
It is usually used to focus on specific areas or problems but a whole body treatment can be given. It may cause some soreness during or right after the massage which is normal. However, if the massage is done correctly you should feel better than ever within a day or two. It is important to drink plenty of water after a Deep Tissue Massage to help eliminate the toxins that have been released by the massage from the body.
Hot Stone Massage
Massage using hot stones has been used in different cultures for many years. Placing the hot stones on the body and arranging them on specific areas helps to relax the muscles and reduce pain or discomfort. This can be followed by a massage which can be deeper and more intense as heat penetrates the body and relaxes the muscles.
In certain cases cool stones can also be used to help muscular injury and inflammation. Warm stones expand the blood vessels, helping to move blood faster round the body, and relaxing the nervous system. The application of cool stones stimulates the nervous system by causing the blood vessels to contract and increasing the lymph flow of waste materials round the body.
Holistic Massage has been known and used for thousands of years as one of the most beneficial ways of keeping the body free from stress and illness. Holistic means considering the complete person: mind, body, and spirit.
Massage improves circulation, brings fresh oxygen and nutrients to the body’s cells, helps to eliminate toxins, and releases muscular tension and stress.
When the body is allowed to relax it can begin to heal itself. Holistic massage can help to heal on many levels - physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.
Having regular massage treatments can ease minor aches and pains and can help to prevent many common ailments and symptoms of stress such as headaches, insomnia, anxiety, repetitive strain injury, and general fatigue.
Indian Head Massage
Indian Head Massage is a treatment based on old Ayurvedic techniques involving work on the upper back, shoulders, neck, scalp, and face. A variety of massage movements are used to relieve accumulated tension, stimulate circulation, and restore joint movement. Indian Head Massage is also used to aid the condition and health of the hair, particularly when combined with the use of natural organic oils. Indian Head Massage is used by practitioners to help reduce stress and fatigue, increase mental clarity, and relax and rejuvenate the receiver. Treatments last for 30 minutes.
Pregnancy massage is a great way to relieve the physical discomfort and emotional stress that can accompany pregnancy. It relaxes the mind and body, relieves muscular tension, promotes wellbeing and improves sleep. Massage can also be beneficial post pregnancy. As well as giving you some 'me time', it promotes muscle healing and spinal alignment, important factors that assist in returning your body to its pre-pregnancy state.
Swedish Massage is the manipulation of the soft tissues (skin, muscles, tendons, and ligaments) of the body. It is a firm massage and has a set routine of techniques that vary from deep pressure to stimulate the body's systems, to a slower, more superficial movement to assist relaxation.
